An automated solution to edit multiple documents at once
Project Summary
Developed a localized productivity solution to edit multiple document templates at one time by inserting basic information collected from the user via the command line.
Problem & Objective
Legal procedure often requires the completion of various filings (affidavit, certificate of service, notice, judge's order, etc.), which requires the completion of multiple documents with similar information. This tool was designed to automate the process of filling out the various documentation, saving time and reducing errors.
My Role
I led the end-to-end development of the tool, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, and testing.
Technologies Used
Results
The tool reduces the time required to fill out multiple documents from 15-20 minutes to just seconds, significantly improving efficiency for legal professionals. It also minimizes the risk of errors associated with manual data entry.
Challenges & Learnings
Key challenges included accommodating single and married client data entries, adjusting document pronouns (he/him, she/her, they/their) depending on client gender and filing status (single vs. married), and ensuring data is inserted in the correct place on each document.
